What is dürrüşehvar sultan azam jah?

Dürrüşehvar Sultan Azam Jah was the wife of Osman Ali Khan, the last Nizam (ruler) of Hyderabad in India. She was born in 1914 in Istanbul, Turkey and was a princess of the Ottoman Empire before marrying the Nizam in 1931.

She was known for her philanthropic work and established several institutions for the betterment of women, such as the Dürrüşehvar Women's Association and the Dürrüşehvar Children's Home. She was also deeply involved in promoting education and healthcare in Hyderabad.

After the partition of India in 1947, the Nizam's state of Hyderabad was annexed by the Indian government and the royal family lost its power and prestige. Dürrüşehvar Sultan Azam Jah moved with her husband to Istanbul where they lived until his death in 1967.

She continued to be active in charitable work throughout her life and was known for her kindness and generosity. She died in 2006 at the age of 92.
